Playing Lego with my son in the
Calgary Public Library

Hello, world! My name is Petr Baranovskiy (yep, without the second ‘e’), I hold a Master of Public Policy degree, and until recently I worked as a researcher with the University of Saskatchewan Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, where I specialized in economic policy analysis, economic and statistical modeling, energy policy, and using geospatial data for policy analysis.

I love data analysis and the R language, and I am particularly interested in data visualization and spatial data. This blog is my new hobby, and I hope it will help economists and social scientists to start more actively using R in their work.

Just like nearly everyone many others in Canada nowadays, I am currently out of a job due to COVID-19 economic collapse. So if you need a data analyst / data visualization specialist on a permanent or temporary basis, or to do casual contract work, please don’t hesitate to contact me. You can download my CV by clicking here.
